What are the disadvantages of using a steam cleaner on my bed matress? I'm subletting my furnished apartment and would like to steam clean my mattress when I return. What is the best cleaner to use in a steam cleaner for extra dirty carpets? We are purchasing a house that was forclosed on and has been sitting for about 6 months. The carpet is probably 3 years old and appears that a vacuum cleaner has never touched them...LOL! However, I believe the carpet will come clean, it's just extremely dirty and has a lot of traffic areas in it. I have rented a steam cleaner to try to do it myself, but just wondering if anyone has any advise on any good cleaners to use in the system that they have had a great success with.
What's a good steam cleaner to rent or buy? I am considering buying a steam cleaner for all the cleaning jobs in the house (cooker, fridge, floor, bath, sinks, tiles and if possible the carpet too). I would like a machine that is reliable, safe to handle, easy to use and primarily works well with plenty of oomph in it. What kind of technical details should I be looking for when deciding on the machine for me? Thank you Paul, for your wise words. Any suggestions on a steam cleaner for the other jobs around the house?
why does my kitchen floor stink after using a steam cleaner? That kinda seems contradictory to cleaning but that's what happens. After I steam clean my floors, it smells like bleach or vinegar, is there something wrong with my steam cleaner? I always wash the steam pads after every use. I just use plain water for the steam, nothing else added. It's a ceramic tile floor, so maybe the grout getting steamed, oh and the grout has started to crack so maybe it's getting into the under layers.

What is the best cleaner to use for our steam cleaner? We borrowed a "steam cleaner" to clean the carpets in our house. The carpet isn't horrendously dirty, but there are quite a few urine spots from our small dog (she has since become much better at house training, so some of these spots are at least a month old). The cleaner is a Bissell ProHeat Plus. What is the best cleaning solution to use with this cleaner with our carpet?

Can anyone recommend a steam cleaner type vacuum for carpets? We have indoor/outdoor carpet on a deck, and it's filthy. I would like to purchase a steam cleaner-type vacuum and want to know what anyone might recommend. I don't want to pay an arm and a leg, about $90 or less. We have a vacuum already, so it's not necessary that it be a combination machine. It also should be fairly lightweight, not like those ones you can rent at the supermarket. I couldn't get on into the car! Thanks.
I'm looking for a really good carpet cleaner solution for my steam cleaner? Our carpet is a mess from mud, dog and cat hair, general dirt and grime, and even baby food that spills. Just something easy to get at the store, Sears, Walmart, etc., is fine, but a good one. Thanks!!
Is it safe and effective to clean your car engine with a steam cleaner? I've been searching for an easy way to clean my car engine and I actually found quite a few videos on YouTube of people cleaning their engines with a steam cleaner. I want to know whether this method actually works effectively and whether or not there is any risk of damaging any of the engine components. If so, is there any way to prevent this type of damage such as covering up the components.
Go buy a steam cleaner or get it professional done? I am needing to clean my 6 months old beige microfiber couches. I looked up prices to get them professionally cleaned and for both couches it would be the same price or a bit cheaper to just go out and buy a steam cleaner from wal mart. Which route would be the best way to go? If i go with getting them professionally cleaned; who should i go with? If I go with buying a steam cleaner; which one should I get? Thank!
Does anyone recommend a good Carpet Steam Cleaner? I usually have a Carpet Cleaning service come but that's becoming a pricey habit. So I've tried doing it myself with the BISSELL ProHeat 2X Upright Deep Cleaner. Which worked nicely but I'm sure it can get even better. I don't own a steam cleaner of my own yet. I want to buy one that I know will do a good job on high traffic areas and a home with a toddler constantly spilling stuff.
what's the best way to remove a matress stain without using a steam cleaner? I should say that my matress was treated to easily remove stains from it, but since I don't have a warranty on it, they can't clean it for me, and I find it hard to find a steam cleaner, and the places that rent them are way too far from where I leave. I have to say though, I've haven't yet attempted to clean it on my own to not damage it so, I'll take all the advice I can get on this.

I am looking to purchase a steam cleaner specifically for cleaning my carpets, and would appreciate if anyone could recommend a reliable product that they have purchased and are satisfied with (or dis-satisfied with). Is there a semi quiet steam cleaner/vacumm that really works? It's not really a steamer, you just fill the plastic tank with hot tap water. Thank you!

Steam/Vapour cleaner poor performance or i expecting too much? I recently purchased household steam cleaner specs are 0.3L, 1100W, 3bar. It works well, though not cleans as it usually show in advertisement on TV when u just point at dirt and steam it then it going to crawl aside. Well in my case it steams, but dirt stays in place and you have to use something to wipe it and sometimes it does not even make it any easier. Whats wrong is it too weak steam cleaner perhaps i need one that makes hotter steam or has more output pressure?
