  1. You need a car, otherwise you are going to be cleaning houses strictly within walking distance.
  2. If you have no car, how on Earth do you expect to get from job to job? NO ONE is going to pay your to clean their house if they have to pick you up AND drop you off somewhere when you are done.
  3. For now, you can borrow your parent's car until you have money enough to get a super cheap used car at a car lot somewhere. Of course to be fair, you need to pay your parents for the gas expenses in exchange for using their car. As you make money, whoever has a license between you could get the vehicle that you can use. The key is, you both have to be responsible with your expenses.
  4. Hello there, Here are some suggestions: You could make an exchange with friends and family members that do have cars, you can simple borrow a car from them or give them a deal, say $5 to borrow the car for 2 hours (if that's how long it will take you to clean for that particular job). You can schedule your clients all on the same day or two and then rent a car for only those days (If you have a license) Local places are usually the cheapest, at least in my area. But ZIP-CARs another possibility since it includes fees, taxes and insurance. And if you don't have a license perhaps you can find a friend with a car and some free time to be your "company driver" for a cut of each cleaning job or a set amount per week/month. Or perhaps barter your cleaning services in exchange for them driving you to jobs You can also offer a discount for clients that provide all cleaning supplies and instruments (mop, vacuum etc) and simply walk, take the bus or train to those jobs. And until you have enough to purchase your own car, try and keep your client radius to your own area. Also: you should look into a business name, register with your county clerk and set up a business bank account as well. Purchase your cleaning supplies and start handing out flyers with a 10% discount for first time clients to build a client base. Call other cleaning services in your area to gauge pricing. And remember, set yourself apart, take payments via paypal, offer to walk there pet, in this economy people are looking for the best bang for their buck.
