How much should I charge for a house cleaning job and packing the house up for them?

it was 4 people doing the job. we had to pack up and then clean a house that is selling for about a half million dollars. the house was very dirty. an older couple lived there but they both passed. the 1st day we worked about 9-12 hours and the second day about 7-9 hours. we need to know how much to charge for this packing and cleaning job?

  1. You didn't give an estimate at the beginning? Or have a work order signed? I suggest you charge $15 per person per hour. Good luck.
  2. I would not have started working until that was out of the way right in the beginning. As an employer and as an employee. You both need to come to an agreement right off the bat. Find out right now. They may think you are doing this "gratis"
  3. Call a local moving agent and ask them how much an hour for a lumper or packer. That will give you the going rate. Or ask a housecleaning service. Usually the rate is set before the work is done, so you have a strange setup there.
  4. I clean houses for a living and I usually call a company that does the same thing and get a ball park figure for what they charge. Also call a moving company and get a ball park figure from them. I generally charge by the job not by the hour, but that sounds like alot of hard work I would charge what you believe it was worth.
  5. wow that is crazy how do you know they will pay you now that the job is done. always agree upfront for price , It would be nice to know how many square feet the house is because a half a million dollar house is very different in each state or town , half a million is huge in atlanta but small in nyc without knowing facts i would price this service around 800-1600 dollars.
