  1. agood cleaner
  2. Cleanliness of bathrooms and kitchens and beds done right your lucky if they clean the inside of windows and patio doors which you might have to do that yourself. It depends. I had "Molly Maids" come out and they were very professional. They were bonded punctual if they have good directions they were there on time. Don't get into conversations with anyone cleaning your house because they will not do a good job. Also it depends on how big your house is as to the number of maids that come. Mine was only 3 bdrms. 2 baths and den and office. Professionalism is the quality I look for. Molly maids were very neat and clean looking, very pleasant and I didn't mind paying a little more for their service. They did my baseboards which is important. Also they cleaned my stove. The home was very sanitized. Hope you get someone as good as they. Mary
  3. I only hire Jehovah's Witnesses because they will not steal from me and they have watched my children as their own. They work quietly and well and fast. I pay a certain amount...if they want to bring help it still comes out of that amount...I have never insisted any of them be licensed or bonded.
  4. I've never hired a cleaning service or an individual, but if I did, yes, my primary consideration would be that the person or persons were licensed, bonded, insured ... Of course I would consider other factors as well (especially if I were hiring an individual) ... I would want that person to be someone I could easily communicate with and could count on ... reliability and punctuality would be important ... I would also need to feel that I could "trust" that person to be in my house, unsupervised. Key areas for cleaning would be, for me ... kitchen and bathrooms, and common areas. I would like to have the windows, window-frames, baseboards, railings, etc., cleaned. Beyond that, a good dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning the hard-floor surfaces. I (personally ... I realize others may differ) don't want the bedrooms fussed with. Dusting and vacuuming would be OK in the bedrooms, but I wouldn't want someone changing my sheets or, really, touching my bed ... or my kids' beds. I'd prefer to do that myself. I would never expect someone to do my laundry or dishes unless I had specifically hired him/her for that task. If I were to hire a cleaning service or individual, what I would want is to come home to a house that is tidied up and neat-looking. The criteria I would apply is ... if an unexpected guest showed up, would my house be ready? If I felt confident that the common areas of my house were guest-ready and presentable, the cleaning service will have done a good job.
  5. I am looking for someone to clean our house at the moment. I will go through an agency because then i don't have to worry about all the insurance, license, bond issues you talk about above. we have had cleaners before but not on a regular basis, once every 2 weeks perhaps. A few years ago we had a lady who kept stealing our wine bottles! The areas of most concern to me would definately be the kitchen, toilet and bathroom areas. Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, disinfecting are the things i like to be done. Also cleaning the stove and oven - I hate that with a passion!
  6. Someone who is thorough, trustworthy, and honest; giving attention to all of his/her assigned areas. It is nice if they are personable but that is not necessary to being an effective house cleaner. As long as the person is not disrespectful or rude. It helps if the person is willing to go the extra mile once in a while since occasionally my needs are different from our original agreement. Like Debbie, Jane Fonda and others, I would only hire Jehovah's Witnesses since they take their faith seriously and it is a matter of pleasing God to be honest and hardworking.
  7. i never really liked company who came and cleaned my house A / because i worked for a company and i noticed one main thing about them and that was they only cleaned what they wanted to clean, the basics and they did the same thing week after week. B / they dont really do extras i have had a cleaner for years and i prefer the private ones i always made sure i was home when they came. what ever i needed doing they would do as at the end of the day i was paying them for there time so as long as they did it in the 3 hours it was fine, i never asked them to wash dishes or load machine or iron as i loved doing these jobs myself. everything is was rotated like one week i would say ''could you clean in kitchen cupborad'' and the next week i would say ''could you hoover behind and around furniture'' etc no week was ever the same some jobs need doing weekly and others monthly so this worked out better for me. and also they were cheaper as most companies charged to much. i had molly maid too for 4 cleans ( once evry week ) and i found them the worst company ever as on the first visit they did a brill job but after that it was such a waste of money. you need to ask yourself ''what type of cleaner do i want'' one that does what you want doing or the one that comes and does the same thing everyweek in a rush with spending a minumum time. for me the dusting and polishing is not that important for me to get a cleaner as these are the type of jobs i do my self on a daily basic anyway for me its impotant to do other hard boring jobs like windows and behind seetee and under beds and shower cleaning properly . the only and main reason why i had a cleaner was to A. TO DO ALL THE HARD AND BORING JOBS B A TREAT AND BONUS OF HAVEING SOMEONE ELSE CLEAN MY HOUSE ,ONE DAY IN A WEEK WHILE A RELAXED. GOOD LUCK ANYWAY
